ROSE CROIX – The Ancient & Accepted Rite
As I am well into the second year of my second five year patent as the Inspector General for the District of Berkshire, I sincerely thank all of the members of our Order in the District for the wonderful support they have given me to date and hopefully will continue to do so.
I’m also extremely grateful for the excellent support I’ve received from Ill\Bro. Anthony (Tony) Rees 32°, the District Recorder, whom I was very pleased to witness having his 32nd Degree conferred by the Supreme Council on 4th June 2019.
Whilst in previous years I have been able to report year on year growth in the District membership, the year up to 30th June 2019 was a little disappointing in this respect. The number of members showed a slight reduction, mostly stemming from a much lower number of perfections than in previous years. That said, I would like to extend my personal congratulations and a very warm welcome into the District to all of our newly perfected and joining members.
Regrettably, seven of our members were called to the Grand Chapter Above and we remember with gratitude their loyalty and dedication. May they Rest in Eternal Peace.
On Saturday 4th May we held our Annual Family Lunch at Sindlesham under the banner of St Cecilia Chapter No. 811. Once again this year, I am delighted to be able to report that this was very well supported with over 120 in attendance. The next one will be on Saturday 13th June 2020.
Our Annual Thanksgiving and Re-Dedication Church Service will be held this year on Sunday 27th October 2019, under the banner of Wallingford Castle Chapter No. 1165 at St. Paul’s Church, Reading Road, Wokingham at 3:00 pm and followed by a free afternoon tea in the adjacent Parish Hall, under the banner of Donnington Castle Chapter No. 856. This year’s service will be enhanced by the presence of M\Ill\Bro. John Railton 33°, the Grand Prior of the Supreme Council.
These events are open to all of the family and friends of our members, irrespective of whether they themselves are members or not. Please do come and join us – you won’t be disappointed!
I continue to be delighted to be able to report that the Heads of the Orders in the Province, including Craft, Royal Arch, Mark, Royal and Select, are all members of our Order and I’m truly grateful to them for their support.
If you are considering joining this wonderful Order and would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the District Recorder.
The District website address is: www.berkshirerosecroix.org.uk. Please view this site which is regularly updated with reports of our meetings and other news.
We have eight Chapters in the District, plus one which is the Higher Degrees Chapter. In general they meet three times per year. I’m confident that if you meet the membership criteria, the primary one of which is a belief in the Holy and undivided Trinity, one of these Chapters will give you a very warm welcome and I would personally welcome you into the District. I look forward to hearing from you.
V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33°, Inspector General for the District of Berkshire
