Maidenhead Chapter No 613 - Report : 26th October 2018
The meeting was held at Sindlesham and there were 16 in attendance, including the Inspector General, V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33° and 3 Guests, namely Ill\ Bros. Bill Rhymes 31° (856), John Machray 30° (18) and E & P Bro. Michael Hogg 18° (18).
The District Recorder was unavoidably absent as he was attending a Rose Croix meeting in London.
The MWS, E & P Bro. Robert Britten 18°, opened the Chapter, with Ill\Bros. Bill Rhymes 31° and John Machray 30°, acting as Prelate and Second General/Capt of Guard respectively.
Ill\Bros. Jim Tilbury 30°, David Arnold 30°, Bill Thomas 31°, acted as DC, Marshall and ADC respectively, with E & P Bro. Graham Giddings 18°, as Outer Guard.
The MWS announced that since the last regular meeting, E & P Bro. John Emeny 18°, had been called to the Grand Chapter Above and asked E & P Bro. Geoff Heron 18°, to deliver a short Eulogy, following which the Brethren stood in silence in respect of departed merit.
The minutes of the previous meeting held on 22nd June 2018, were proposed for adoption by Ill\Bro. Jim Tilbury 30°, seconded by E & P Bro. Roger Tomlinson 18° and approved by the members.
The Guests were warmly welcomed by the MWS, who offered the baton to the Inspector General, V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33°, which was graciously declined.
A Ballot was held in respect of Bro. Amine Mecifi as a Candidate for Perfection, which proved in his favour.
There then followed a good Perfection Ceremony of Bro. Amine Mecifi, conducted by the MWS, most ably assisted by Ill\Bro. Bill Rhymes 31°, Introduction to the Intermediate Degrees, E & P Bro. Roger Tomlinson 18°, the Intermediate Degrees, E & P Bro. Mike Gibson 18°, the First Point and the Explanation/ Presentation of the Collar.
The Inspector General delivered the Accolade.
Pursuant to a Notice of Motion, the Treasurer, Ill\Bro. David Arnold 30°, proposed:
a) An increase in Annual Subscriptions to £75.00pa.
b) An increase of 50p on the Dining Fee
c) A donation of £500.00 to the RWPGM 2023 Festival.
This was seconded by the Recorder and approved by the members.
The MWS then presented a £500.00 cheque for the RWPGM 2023 Festival to the Inspector General, which was gratefully received.
The Almoners report was presented, which included an update on the health of Ill\Bro. Ted Dugdale 32° and E & P Bro. Martin Coles 18°, following which the Alms were collected
The Risings were conducted, wherein the Recorder delivered an appraisal of all correspondence received from Supreme Council and the District of Berkshire.
The Recorder, Ill\Bro. Bruce Mackenzie-Boyle 30°, proposed / seconded on behalf of Ill\Bros. Tony Lewis 31° and Len Starling 30° ( both unavoidably absent), E & P Bro. Norman Moulsley 18°, as an Honorary Member of the Chapter.
The meeting was completed by the MWS performing the Third Point and the Closing of the Chapter, which was followed by an excellent Festive Board where the usual Toast List was honoured.
