Albert Victor Chapter No 117 - Report : 22nd October 2018
The meeting was held at Sindlesham and there were in attendance 22, including the Inspector General, V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33°, District Recorder Ill\Bro. Tony Rees 31° and 5 Guests, including Ill. Bros. Bill Rhymes 31°( 856), Les Langley 30°(252), John Machray 30°(18), Robin Trevett 31°(252) and Roger Tomlinson 18° (613)
Following the opening of the Chapter, with Ill\Bros. John Machray 30° and Bill Rhymes 31°, acting as Second General and ADC respectively and Ill\Bro. Jimmy Edmundson 30°, acting as DC, the MWS, E & P Bro. David Robinson 18°, formally welcomed the Guests and offered the Inspector General the Baton, which was graciously declined.
The minutes of the previous meeting, held on 18th June 2018, having been previously circulated, were proposed for adoption by Ill\Bro. Jimmy Edmundson 30°, seconded by Ill\Bro. Lionel Higgins 30° and approved by the members.
The MWS then invested Ill\Bro. Jimmy Edmundson 30°, who was unavoidably absent from the Enthronement meeting, with the authority of his office as Almoner and ADC.
A Ballot was held in respect of Bro. Stephen Graesser as a Candidate for Perfection, which proved in his favour.
There then followed a good Perfection Ceremony of Bro. Stephen Graesser, conducted by the MWS, ably assisted by Ill\Bro. Raymond Head 32°, Introduction to the Intermediate Degrees, E & P Bro. David Colchester 18°, the Intermediate Degrees, Ill\Bro. Raymond Head 32°, the Second Point and Ill\Bro. Lionel Higgins 30°, the explanation of the Collar, Signs and Words.
The Inspector General carried out the Accolade.
Following a Notice of Motion, the Treasurer, Ill\Bro. Robert Faulkner 32°, proposed:
a) The Annual Subscription be increased to £75.00pa
b) The Perfection Fee for October to be £50.00
c) The Perfection Fee for February to be £25.00
This was seconded by the Recorder and carried by the members.
The Almoners report was presented, which included an update on the health of E & P Bros Colin Smith 18° and Frank Barker 18° , following which the Alms were collected.
The Risings were conducted, wherein the Recorder delivered an appraisal of all correspondence received from Supreme Council and the District of Berkshire.
The meeting was completed by the MWS performing the Third Point and the Closing of the Chapter, which was followed by an excellent Festive Board where the usual Toast List was honoured.
