Maidenhead Chapter No 613 - Report : 27th April 2018
On Friday 27th April 2018, a meeting was held at the Berkshire Masonic Centre, Sindlesham. There were 26 present at the meeting, including the District Recorder, Ill. Bro. Tony Rees 31° and 10 guests.
Owing to a family emergency in Australia, the Most Wise Sovereign, E&P Bro. Mike Gibson 18°was unable to attend the meeting and Ill Bro. Raymond Head 32°, an Honorary Member of the Chapter, acted as MWS.
Following the opening of the Chapter by Ill. Bro. Raymond Head 32°, the minutes of the last regular meeting held on 27th October 2017, were confirmed as a true record and signed by the Acting MWS.
The Acting MWS then invested the following brethren who had been unavoidably absent at the Enthronement meeting: Ill Bro. Len Starling 30° (ADC) and E&P Bro. John Emeny 18° (Steward).
A Ballot was then held in respect of Bro. Martin Cole as a candidate for Perfection, which proved in his favour.
An excellent perfection ceremony was carried out respectively by Ill. Bro. Bill Rhymes 31° (Reception and Intermediate Degrees) Ill. Bro. Jim Tilbury 30 ° (First Point) David Arnold 30° (Second Point). The explanation of the emblems was given by E&P Bro Bob Britten 18° and the explanation of the Signs and Words was given by E&P Bro Roger Tomlinson 18°. The District Recorder acted as Raphael for the ceremony and delivered the Accolade. E& P Bro. Michael Brown 18° (Donnington Castle Chapter) acted as Captain of the Guard.
Elections were held and the following officers elected for the ensuing year:
MWS – E&P Bro. Bob Britten 18°
Treasurer – Ill. Bro. David Arnold 30°
Outer Guard – E&P Bro. David Barham 18°
Standing Committee – The brethren appointed to the offices of Marshal and Raphael
Rep for BMC – The brother appointed Recorder for the ensuing year
Accounts Examiners – Ill. Bros. Tony Lewis 31° and Len Starling 30°
The Almoners report was submitted, following which Alms were collected.
On the Risings, the Recorder delivered an appraisal of all correspondence received since the last meeting, including notice of the Family Lunch to be held at Sindlesham on Saturday 5th May and the Church Service to be held at Wokingham on Sunday 28th October. The District Recorder gave apologies for absence for the Inspector General, V.Ill. Bro. Roy Stone 33° who was attending another Berkshire Rose Croix Chapter meeting. The Recorder announced that an application to join the Chapter had been received from Bro. Amine Mecifi and this would be followed up shortly.
The Third Point was conducted by Ill. Bro. Raymond Head 32°, following which he closed the Chapter.
The evening was concluded with an excellent and harmonious festive board, during which the usual toasts were honoured.
