Bombay Chapter No 18 - Report : 20th April 2018
Bombay Chapter No.18 – Report on Meeting held on Friday 20th April 2018.
The meeting, which was re-scheduled from 2nd March, was held at Sindlesham and there were 30 in attendance, including the Inspector General, V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33° and seven visitors, five who were from Windsor Castle Chapter. Regrettably the District Recorder, Ill\Bro. Tony Rees 31°, was not present as he was attending a Higher Degrees meeting in Southampton, representing the District.
Following the opening of the Chapter, the MWS, E & P Bro. J Sirrell 18°, welcomed the Inspector General and offered him the baton, which was graciously declined.
The Recorder then read the Dispensation authorising the re-scheduled meeting.
The minutes of the meetings held on 26th September 2017 and 2nd March 2018, were then confirmed by the members and signed by the MWS.
The MWS then invested the Prelate, Ill\Bro. R Stone 31°, who had been unavoidably absent at the Enthronement Meeting, with the authority of his office.
A ballot was then conducted in respect of Bros. L B Taylor and J Brunt, as Candidates for Perfection, which proved in their favour.
The MWS then proceeded to carryout a very good Perfection Ceremony of Bro. L B Taylor, ably assisted by Ill\Bro. D Jarvis 32°, Reception to the Intermediate Degrees, E & P Bro. J Cooley 18°, the Intermediate Degrees, Ill\Bro. D Jarvis 32°, the explanation of the Collar, Signs and Words. The IG carried out the Accolade.
Following receipt of the Almoners report the Alms were collected.
Following the Risings, the meeting was completed by the IG conducting the Third Point and the MWS closing the Chapter, which was followed by an excellent Festive Board where the usual Toast List was honoured.
