Wallingford Castle Chapter No 1165 - Report: 20th Jan 2018
The meeting was held at the Wallingford Masonic Centre, with 32 Brethren in attendance, including the Inspector General, V\Ill\Bro. Roy Stone 33° and the District Recorder, Ill\Bro. Tony Rees 31°. There were 6 guests, including Ill\Bro. A McGahan 32° of Coeur de Lion Chapter No 105 and the MWS of Windsor Castle Chapter No 252.
Following acceptance of the minutes of the last regular meeting, a ballot was held in respect of Bro. Gary Malcolm Church, as a candidate for Perfection into the Chapter, which proved in his favour.
The MWS, E & P Bro. V Pearson 18°, then carried out fine Ceremony of Perfection for Bro. G Church, most ably assisted by Ill\Bro. Dr. M Woolford 31°, Reception to the Intermediate Degrees, E & P Bro. L Austen 18°, the Intermediate Degrees, Ill\Bro. R Head 32°, the Second Point and Ill\Bro. A Milne 32°, the explanation of the Collar, Signs and Words. E & P Bro. P King 18°, acted as Herald and E & P Bro. A Welborn 18° as Captain of the Guard.
The Inspector General carried out the Accolade.
The MWS then invested Ill\Bro. A Hopgood 30°, as Director of Ceremonies, he having been unavoidably absent from the Enthronement Meeting.
The members then approved a donation of £200.00 to the Footsteps Centre, this having been proposed by E & P Bro. A Taylor 18° and seconded by the Recorder, Ill\Bro.Dr. M Woolford 31°
The District Recorder presented Supreme Council certificates to E & P Bros. E Lewis 18°, P King 18°, R Orton 18° and P Arthur 18° in an excellent manner which was well received by the Princes.
The treasurer gave Notice of Motion that with effect from 1st October 2018, the Dining Fees would be increased to £23.
The MWS gave Notice of Motion for a donation of £200 to the Sue Ryder Home, his chosen charity.
The Third Point was conducted by the new MWS and the Chapter duly closed.
A most harmonious Festive Board followed where the usual Toasts were honoured
